Privacy Policy
Short version: this calculator runs entirely in your browser. The trip data you enter never reaches our servers. We use a third-party CDN to deliver the page, anonymous analytics to count visits, and (where applicable) Google AdSense to show ads.
1. Who we are
This website ("the Service") is operated as a personal project. Contact details are on the contact page. For privacy-related requests, write to the same address with "Privacy" in the subject line.
2. What we store on your device
The Service uses your browser's localStorage to remember:
- The list of days you have marked as time spent in the Schengen area.
- Your reference date and the currently visible 12-month window.
- Your light/dark theme preference.
This data is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot read it. You can clear it at any time using the "Clear all" button in the controls panel, or through your browser's site-data settings.
3. What we collect on our servers
We do not run an application backend. The site is hosted as static files. The hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) records basic request metadata for security and abuse prevention — including IP address, user-agent, and request time — subject to Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
We use anonymous, cookieless web analytics (e.g. Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible) to count visits and see which pages are popular. These analytics do not use cookies, do not fingerprint visitors, and do not track you across sites.
4. Advertising
Pages on this site may show ads through Google AdSense. When this is the case:
- Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads, including personalised ads where consent has been given.
- You can review and adjust your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising via the DAA (US) or EDAA (EU).
- For visitors in the EU/UK, we use Google's IAB-compliant consent flow to ask before any non-essential cookies are set.
Some pages may also include affiliate links (for example to travel insurance or visa services). If you sign up through one of these links, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links do not change the price you pay and do not influence which products are mentioned.
5. Third parties
- Cloudflare — hosting and CDN. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — advertising. See Google's privacy policy.
- Affiliate partners — if you click an affiliate link, you leave this site and the destination's privacy policy applies.
6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of any personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Because we do not run a user-account backend, the personal data we hold is limited to anonymous analytics aggregates and (where applicable) advertising identifiers held by Google. To exercise your rights regarding advertising data held by Google, use the links in section 4. For anything else, contact us using the address on the contact page.
7. Children
This Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
